Roy ayers

The worldwide reknowned vibraphonist, with his interplanetary hit "Everybody Love the Sunshine" and 63 albums on his own,  is the undisputed master.

Lionel Hampton gave him his first instrument at age 5, at 17  he hired him in his famous Big Band.

After playing with the best of the "West Coast Jazz": Amy Curtis, Jack Wilson, Gerald Wilson Orchestra, Teddy Edwards, Chico Hamilton, Hampton Hawes, Phineas Newborn, he recorded three albums with Herbie Mann.

In 1970 he founded his own group: "The Roy Ayers Ubiquity" and then recorded some 22 albums with well known artists like Sonny Fortune, Billy Cobham, Omar Hakim.

After a talented Disco orientation, this multifaceted artist definitely delivers songs announcing the House music,  rhythmic and innovative Hip Hop Acid Jazz sounds - Thefans of the most advanced fusion music have recognized the importance of this multitalented sound designer while by hiring him very often. He has performed, recorded or been sampled by: Stevie Wonder, Lonnie Smith Linstone, Grover Washington Jr., Herbie Hancock, Stanley Clarke, Galliano, The Roots, etc ...

In the 80's, Roy composed songs and produced an album with Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.

In 93 he features on Guru Jazzmatazz album. Works closely with Erikah Badu and Betty Wright, who says he is the father of "New Soul".

Today he is one of the most sampled artists in the world. He is back with his funk band  "Virgin Ubiquity". This artist will appeal to  lovers of Hip Hop, Soul, Jazz, old and young, in fact, all those who appreciate good music ...
